Alexandra “Alex” Murphy, MA LPC

I believe that therapy is like climbing a mountain. The goal at the outset is to reach the top. You take small steps, which might not feel like much to begin with. You may get bogged down with how far you have left to go, but I like to remind all of my clients that the view from even halfway up the mountain is much better than it was in the parking lot and the only way to improve the view is to take one small step at a time. By searching for a therapist, you’ve already begun your journey.

I believe in working alongside my clients to facilitate healing, balance and growth. You are the expert on your own life, and I believe in honoring your experiences with respect. In therapy, I work to create an open space for my clients and believe that therapy is a team effort. I aim to help clients create and reach attainable goals and dreams through honest and transparent conversation and discussion.

I work with adolescents and adults from the ages of 13-65 with a focus on Trauma Recovery, EMDR, Sport and Performance psychology coaching and anxiety/depression.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been practicing since 2020. I graduated from the University of Denver with a master’s degree in International Disaster Psychology. Since then, I have completed many specialized trainings and attended conferences to stay up to date with the field. In my spare time, I like to watch movies, read science fiction novels, and spend time golfing or rock climbing.

My fee is $150 per 45-50 minute hour. I am not in-network with insurance, and I offer a sliding scale. We are happy to provide an invoice (superbill) for submission to your HSA or insurance company .

If this sounds like it could be a good fit for you, feel free to give me a call for a quick consultation at 781-469-1507. I look forward to speaking with you.
